A Method on Amplitude and Phase Calibration for Phased Array Antennas Transmit System

A simple and applied scheme for amplitude-phase close-loop calibration in phased array antennas transmitting system is developed. The composition, characteristic and performance of calibration switch matrix are introduced from the point of view of engineering applications. It discusses the principle, classification and realization of amplitude-phase calibration, and deduces the algorithm of implementing amplitude-phase detection by using single channel. This algorithm uses the characteristics that the same channel has stable amplitude-phase error to establish the equations between multiple groups of power measurement value, and solves the amplitude error and phase error of various channels relative to the reference channel in simultaneousness mode. Theoretical analysis and engineering practices prove out the validity and practicability of the scheme.
