基于液晶光子晶体波导耦合的光开关特性分析

摘    要:提出了一种基于液晶光子晶体波导耦合的光开关结构。采用平面波展开法(PWE)分析了光开关耦合区域的色散关系,分析表明可以通过设计适当的耦合区域长度使该结构对不同波长的光实现2×2光开关的功能。以工作波长1550nm和1565nm为例,用时域有限差分法(FDTD)对光开关的性能进行了仿真分析,结果表明开关具有低的插入损耗和高的通道隔离度,开光响应时间在毫秒量级。

Abstract:A optical switch based on liquid-crystal photonic crystal directional coupler has been presented. Analyze the dispersion relation of the coupling region of the switch with the plane wave expansion (PWE) method. The results that this optical switch with different length of the coupling region can complete the switching function with different wavelength. The switch with 1550nm and 1602nm is analyzed using the FDTD methods. Low insertion loss and high channel isolation in both the cross and bar switching states are predicted,besides the switching time is in ms magnitude.
