Abstract:The product property between thermal expansion and piezoelectricity in composites prepared from piezoelectric ceramic and polymer is presented.A theoretical analysis on the product property is discussed based on the series and parallel models of the composites.From the theoretical analysis,the necessary condition for the highest product effect of biphase composites is that the volue fractions of the two phases equal to 0.5 approximately.Composites with piezoelectric PZT particlems,TGS grains and BT particles as active component and PVDF as matrix are used as practical examples.The enhanced pyroelectricity of the composites is observed.The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical prediction.
