| Abstract: | The paper explains the concept of intelligent transportation system (ITS) and electronic toll collection (ETC). It also describes some aspects of dedicated short range communication (DSRC) used in ITS such as its constitution, protocol layer and standardization. Finally it introduces the recent development of the DSRC system implemented by infrared technology instead of the traditional microwave technology. |
