Protocol Application Research of SIMPLE and XMPP in Instant Message Products of Telecom Operators

SIMPLE and XMPP protocol are commonly used international standardization for instant messaging. Current, the two protocols are universally used in the instant messaging software. This paper firstly introduces the two protocols, then the protocol contents from the current instant messaging software, protocol scalability, network load, user authentication, and telecommunications network integration were compared. To further verify the results of the analysis, two protocols were developed instant communications products. Been tested and can be analyzed to obtain two kinds of protocols can be achieved instant messaging features, but for a different scene, the operator to choose according to their own product positioning. The SIMPLE protocol, session control capability is very good, very comprehensive business scenario planning, with the inherent advantages of integration and communication networks, but relatively large consumption of resources. The XMPP protocol is simple, flexible, and more applications, less consumption of resources, then communications services scenario planning and session control are imperfect.
