Abstract:The parasitic effects of inductance and capacitance in each component of a 2nd-order Pi-shaped inductively coupled LTCC filter were analyzed,and a new method to analyze the parasitic inductive coupling was proposed.Based on the analysis results,one 2nd-order Pi-shaped inductively coupled and one 2nd-order Pi-shaped capacitively coupled LTCC bandpass filters were designed.The center frequency,bandwidth,insertion loss and return loss were designed to be 2.45 GHz,32.65%(fractional bandwidth),2 dB and 18 dB respectively for the inductively coupled filter,while to be 2.45 GHz,100 MHz,2 dB and 15 dB respectively for the capacitively coupled filter.The dimensions of two filters were simulated using the HFSS software.The simulation results show that the dimensions of the inductively coupled and capacitively coupled filter are 3.440 mm×2.310 mm×0.625 mm and 4.200 mm×2.400 mm×0.540 mm,respectively.This indicates that it is feasible to take advantage of the inductive coupling in filter design.
