摘    要:高性能的CSCW应用是各类CSCW应用中最复杂的一类。它不仅要求多点之间多媒体信息的实时传输,还要求的控制及管理功能。本文给出一种新的基本ATM匠高性能CSCW多媒体通信的体系结构。

Abstract:High performance CSCW applications(Synchronous distributed CSCW multimedia applications) are most complicated among all kinds of CSCW applications. They require not only multipoint multimedia real-time transmission, but also many control and management issues. ATM network offers many attractive features to multimedia communications, such as flexible bandwidth allocation and QoS control mechanisms. This paper presents a new ATM-based CSCW multimedia group communications architecture in order to effectively exploit all benefits of ATM. The architecture complies with B-ISDN protocol reference model and separates control (signaling), management and user data platforms. Finally, We introduce the implementation of the CSCW supporting environment based on our architecture.
