Application of Pattern Recognition in Image Recognition

Pattern recognition technology has been widely applied in many fields of scientific research, especially becoming more significant in image recognition. The key technology of classic pattern recognition used in image processing, feature extraction and feature recognition method has been reviewed in this paper. An essential difference between traditional pattern recognition and biomimetic pattern recognition (BPR) which has been developed in recent years is introduced.
