| Abstract: | This paper presents the operating principle,design methods and experimental results of an optical variable attenuator. Glass plates deposited with metal through vapor deposition were used as attenuation elements. The continuously variable attenuation along with step attenuation extends the range of attenuation and makes the devies more stable. |
