Abstract:Purpose:To observe retinal neuro protection of minocycline on chronic ocular hypertension rat.Methods:88 SD rats were divided into normal control group,high intraocular pressure group and treatment group.To cauterize superficial scleral vein ablation in order to establish chronic ocular hypertension rat model.We tested ERG b wave amplitude,superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA) and nitric oxide (NO) by spectrophotometer.Results:Compared with high intraocular pressure group,the treatment group ERG b wave amplitude can be maintained,SOD content were increased,MDA and NO content were decreased.Conclusion:Minocycline can protect retina by maintaining ERG b wave amplitude and controling SOD,MDA and NO content.
