澳门科普的历史、现状和挑战

400多年前,西方近代科技文化通过澳门传入中国内地。天主教传教士在传播宗教文化的同时给中国带来了西方天文、数学、地理等科学技术知识。当时澳门成为中国甚至远东地区的文化传播中心。具有多元文化背景的澳门涌现出众多活跃民间社团组织。它们对促进澳门在新纪元的发展发挥着重要的作用。然而旅游博彩产业的快速发展对年轻一代健康成长的影响应予以重视,澳门科普教育工作任重道远。

Science Popularization in Macao: Past, Present, and Prospects

More than four hundred years ago, the western cultural of science and technology had been diffusing into the mainland of China via Macao. While conveying religious culture, the Jesuits brought to China the knowledge of occidental astronomy, mathematics, geography, and other scientific subjects. At that time, Macao became a center for culture spread in China, and even in the Far East. With the multi-cultural background, there have been numerous non-governmental organizations active in Macao. They are playing an important role in promoting the development of Macao in the new era. However, it should be seriously taken that the rapid expansion of gaming-tourist industry influences young generation in normal growth. Macao is still shouldering heavy responsibilities of education for science popularization.
