Abstract:Pig iron containing 1% boron and boron-rich slag containing B 2O 3>12% are made from ludwigite with special blast-furnace smelting technological system.Boron-rich slag after mild cold treatment is the high quality raw material for producing borax and boric acid.The advantages of this process are as follows:simplified process,less investment,higher production,lower energy consumption as well as more remarkable economical and social benefits.
