Analysis of the potential of deep-sea mineral resources and global governance

As technology advances, utilization of deep-sea mineral resources has been transitioning between exploration and exploitation, which major advanced economies compete to gain more say and clout in terms of global deep-sea governance by technological monopoly and rule setting. Against the backdrop of fierce competition in deep-sea mineral resources, China can ride on the wings of the Belt and Road Initiative, think over carefully setbacks on deep-sea governance, bring advantages into play, and enhance its influence and governance capability in this field by deepening the understanding of deep-sea strategies, strengthening research and development capabilities, conducting surveys in more fields, and enhancing international cooperation.
