Research, Development and Application of itanium in Civil Fields

Recent progresses in research, development and application of titanium in the fields of automobiles, consumer goods and medicine were discussed and the development prospects of titanium in these fields were also analysed. It indicates that the biggest barrier for titanium to enter into civil markets is its high cost, however, it can be reduced by developing low cost Ti alloys and improving manufacture technology.
