Abstract:This paper brings a method by which gold can be extracted from the sample solution by MIBK in the media of hydrochloric acid(1.5%)in the presence of ascorbic acid (to eliminate iron interference). Then, gold is antiextracted from MIBK with thiourea solution (1.2%) and determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy. The relative standard de iation is 5.8%, and the recovery is 95.7-105%. The method can be used to determine gold (above the grade of ppm) in chemical prospecting sample.
