| Abstract: | It is difficult to use the ordinary formula to calculate the sediment carrying capacity of the Yellow River. In consideration of the influence of existed silt to Kaman constant and silt deposition, this paper started from the relationship between the lost energy of flow and the needed floating power of sediment, giving a formula of half experiment and half theory to calculate the sediment carrying capacity. Examining by large amount of measured datum, it has showed that the formula is fairly accurate and can be adopted in many different river bed conditions. |
