| Abstract: | A Comparative Study of upwind difference schemes with different accuracy orders is made for unsteady flow around a cylinder at high Reynolds numbers of 1200 and 105. Numerical Comparison shows that the exponential difference scheme is not applicable to the computation of the complicated vortex region behind the cylinder at the early stage of the flow. In the case it is necessary to adopt higher-order upwind difference Schemes, which can distinguish more detailed flow structure with a coarse mesh. |
