Analysis and Strategy on Water Supply Security in Dongting Lake Area

The essence of the water supply security is whether the supply of water recourses could meet the reasonable demand for water resources,which not only refers to adequate amount of water,but also requires good water quality.With the continuous climate change and increasing effects of human activities on water and land resources,the water quantity is decreasing and water quality is worsen in the Dongting Lake area,which intensifies the contradiction between the water shortage and the increasing water demand and thus more attention has been paid to water supply security in the area.In order to ensure the water supply security and solve the problem of water shortage in the Dongting Lake area,the causes for potential safety hazard in water supply need to be studied first.Then,the comprehensive measures including the scientific water diversion,the protection of water sources,and the establishment of relevant laws and regulations are implemented to solve the water supply security problems.
