| Abstract: | Basic principles of realizing harmony between man and water, taking all factors into consideration in line with local conditions is introduced for comprehensive development of Yangtze Estuary, considering natural and economic conditions and social development of the region, and assessment of natural conditions of the estuary and emergency and importance of Yangtze Estuary development in the whole river basin. Other issues need to be addressed in the comprehensive development of Yangtze Estuary are also discussed, i.e. river regime control, harness of south branch section and structural measures applied recently for north branch improvement. |
