Studies of fragility of drought disasters in Chongqing Municipality

Drought disasters are resulted due to coincidence of natural environment and social and economic development in a specific time and spatial condition. Many factors relate to the fragility of drought disasters, including natural conditions of landform, climate and hydrology, as well as social and economic conditions, drought awareness and management, research and development and basic water infrastructure constriction etc. Therefore, strengthening ecological and environment protection, promoting economical and social development, improving legislative system for drought relief, focusing on research and development and basic water infrastructure construction, may effectively enhance the capacity of drought prevention and relief in Chongqing Municipality, and lower the cost of drought disaster relief.
