| Abstract: | The paper reviews general survey on waterpower resources since the founding of the People' Republic of China , gives the resent investigation results in Sichuan province , lists the large and medium-sized hydropower stations existed and under construction after founding of People' Republic of China , demonstrates great achievement in hydropower construction , looks forward to the future in Sichuan hydropower development from beginning to 2020 in the 21th century and emphasizes favorable conditions for creating large and medium -sized regulating reservoirs in Sichuan province. |
