Discussion on Network Simulation Platform for Digital Substations

Communication network, which relates directly to real-time transmission of data and implementation of system functions, is the key content of digital substation design. Network simulation platform presented in this paper can help to design communication systems for digital substations. This paper discusses the main content of communication system design and the functions of network simulation platform in different development stages of digital substation. It also introduces the architecture and simulation process of the platform. In the end of the paper, simulation models, simulation kernel, network analyzer and other issues to be solved are presented.
