| Abstract: | Degradation of Organo Halogenous Compounds of the Type of Chlorinated Phenols in a Biological Solid Bed Reactor This contribution is engaged in the degradation of persistent organo halogenous compounds at the example of pentachlorophenol including the dioxines which are contained in traces. One part of the metabolism is analytically substantiated and the technical procedure to carry out the biological degradation on a biologically settled and ventilated solid bed reactor is described. The degradation takes places with similar velocity and with a yield which is in mechanical-biological purification plants normally only known for the elimination of compounds, easily to degradate biologically. It is a continuation of the degradation of synthetic, water-soluble dyestuff, especially reactive dyestuff, tensides and some plant protecting agents as well as waste water from the pulp and paper production, that was successful analogically in a semi-technical scale. |
