Abstract:Solution polymerized styrene- butadiene rubber ( S-SBR) was prepared by anionic polymerization using butadiene and styrene as monomers , n - butyl lithium as initiator , SnCl4 as coupling agent and tetrahydrofuran as irregular agent . The dynamic mechanical analysis showed that the rolling resistance of S-SBR was better than that of E - SBR , and close to that of BR , while the wet-skid resistance was better than those E-SBR and BR . The effects of types of coupling agent and irregular agent ,the vinyl con-tent and the condition of coupling termination on wet-skid resistance and rolling resistance of S-SBR were investigated . The results showed that increasing the vinyl content properly, and adding a small amount of butadiene befor termination could improve wet - skid property and decrease rolling resistance .
