Abstract:In order to study the feasibility of applying Q460 high-strength steel to transmission towers, combining with the application situation of high-strength steel overseas and domestic in transmission towers, the mechanieal properties and chemical compositions of Q460 high-strength angle steel are introduced in detail. Furthermore, market supply capacity, technical and eeonomic characteristic, and choice of design parameters of Q460 high-strength angle steel have also been analyzed. The results show that using Q460 highstrength angle steel in transmission towers not only has an obvious technical and economical benefit, but also is beneficial to save energy and reduce pollutant, and realize the strategy objectives of national sustainable development. This will provides a strong reference for the application of Q460 high-strength angle steel in transmission towers.
