摘    要:三维真实感地形的生成一直是计算机图形学领域中的焦点问题。而基于层次细节的实时优化自适应网格动态地形渲染凭借其诸多的优点在地理信息系统、虚拟现实系统、数字地球以及三维游戏等各个领域得到了广泛的运用。本文介绍了其中ROAM算法的基本原理及其特点,进一步针对实际应用提出了分块算法的改进,提出了细化边界的概念,增加了地形的真实感,提高了虚拟现实系统及三维游戏中视觉效果。

Abstract:Three dimensions terrain render is a hot topic in the field of computer graphics.The ROAM ( Real time Optimally Adapting Meshes ) algorithm of dynamic terrain render based on LOD (Level of Detail) has been widely used in GIS systems,VR systems,digital earth, video games,and Three-dimensional game,etc.This paper presents the theory and characteristics of the ROAM algorithm. Then the authors give an improved algorithm and its implementation based on ROAM according to practical applications. Proposed refinement of the concept of border, increased the realism of the terrain and improved three-dimensional virtual reality game systems and visual effects.
