Abstract:Low carbon development has become a globally common understanding.Electric power industry,in support of economic development,is also faced with challenge of carbon emission reduction.It is expected that by 2015 total energy conservation from technological progress and adjustment of power structure will have been 28.501×106 t of standard coal and reduced CO2 emission will have been 71.253×106t;the contributions to energy conservation in Guangdong province are respectively 12.7%and 22.9%;the contributions to carbon emission reduction are 17.4%and 31.3%.On the basis of SWOT analysis and calculation on carbon emission,strategies such as fossil energy generation and new energy generation are presented,which provides reference to low carbon development of power generation industry in Guangdong province.
