Abstract:For safety evaluation of an SF6 gas insulation device in operation,it is very effective to detect the decomposition products of SF6.The authors detected the decomposition products and their concentrations in an SF6 gas insulation device under simulated overheat conditions with different temperature and humidity to offer a support to diagnosis of electric equipment.The simulation results showed that SF6 was clearly decomposed at 350 ℃.The higher the humidity was,the higher the concentrations of such decomposition products as SO2,H2S,and HF were.Moisture in this type of electric equipment accelerates the decomposition of SF6,therefore moisture must be strictly controlled in order to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.HF will erode equipment when its concentration is over a certain value,while the effect of S2OF10 on SF6 decomposition is not significant.
