Major trends of power system telecommunications at the beginning of the 21st century

The paper consists of four parts. The first part summarized the main characteristics of, and the driving forces for, the rapid development of power system telecommunications at the end of the last century. In the following three parts, the new connotation and rational knowledge of the power system telecommunications were explored first. Then studies were made on its fundamental missions at the beginning of the new century, followed by a presentation on the strategic guidelines for its technological development and the key issues of new technical moves which people should pay attention to.
