| 摘 要： | 元数据的定义和管理是实现数据仓库系统的一个难点。论文讨论了数据仓库系统中元数据的内容和作用，介绍了Microsoft公司为实现元数据的管理而推出的Open Information Model和Microsoft Repository等工具。在文章最后，介绍了利用以上模型与工具所建立的一个元数据管理系统的实例。

Building Metadata in Data Warehousing System |

| Abstract: | ： The definition and management of metadata is always one of the most difficult tasks when building a data warehousing system．In this paper the contents and functions of metadata are discussed and then the Open Information Model and Microsoft Repository are presented as the main tools to solve the problem．In the last section we introduce a metadata management system that is implemented with the tools． |
