| Abstract: | In this paper the characteristics of process industries and the Development history of process control are briefly described, particularly the future development of process control is depicted in more detail. It is pointed out that the process modeling, control strategies, soft-measuring techniques, process optimization and computer integrated process Systems (CIPS) will be the main direction of the future development of process control in the face of 21 century. |
