| 摘 要： | 即时消息（Instant Messaging，IM）是一种新兴的互联网交流方式，它具有实时性、在线性等一些很好的特性.目前IM已经成为继Email、Web之后的第三大互联网应用，基于IM的技术仍然在发展中，也出现了一些和IM相关的研究问题.本文总结了IM的特征，将IM和其他交流方式进行了比较，介绍了IM的服务模型和相关协议，讨论了IM的现有研究方向并对IM的未来发展方向进行了展望．

| Abstract: | Instant Messaging(IM) is an emerging and popular communication tool in the Internet.IM,which has good characteristics such as real-time and presence,has become the third killer application in the Internet following Email and Web.As an evolving technology,IM is attracting researches in the related research topics.This paper summarizes characteristics of IM,compared with other communication approaches,surveys the IM service model and IM related protocols,discusses current research topics on IM,and presents prospects of future research. |
