Abstract:With the development of computer network and multimedia technologyarid the requirement of large project, distributed cooperative computing has beenmore widely used in CAD/CAM and CIMS applications. Multi-agent technology indistributed artificial intelligence area has been gradually applied in cooperative workenvironment. This paper addresses the concept, classification and internal structureof agent, multi-agent system structure, human-human interaction, commonlanguage and running mode, etc. issues in the MACE (Multi-Agent CooperativeEnvironment). Finally, a variety of aspects of MACE are illustrated by using aprototype of multi--agent system for cooperative design limited to interactive andautomatic parameter modification of a mechanical composite part.
