摘    要:多分辨模型作为一种加速实时显示的手段,近年来得到了普遍的重视和迅速的发展。但是关于在一个虚拟拟环境的漫游系统中如何有效利用这一技术的研究,上前国内外仍处于探讨阶段。

Abstract:As an approach to speed up the real time display, multiresolution modeling becomesmore attractive. How to utilize this technique in the walkthrough of virtual environment efficientlyis still an open problem. In addition, fractal dimension computing is a new method to measure theflatness of surfaces. Based on these two points, a new method is proposed to organize the triangleson the surface of 3D complex models into hierarchical multiresolution model. By the aid of hierarchy, models can be adaptively simplified according to view parameters- Furthermore, the stripstructure is employed for fast rendering of models. As a result, the rendering speed can be im-proved greatly. Some experimental results have shown the efficiency of this method.
