Abstract:This paper introduces a 3D medical visualization system: MedVis Convenient interactionand real time rendering are two important considerations in system design. Two algorithms are developed: 3D texture mapping and Shear-Warp combined volume rendering, and multiresolution isosurface extraction and rendering. The methods are discussed in detail. The requirements on bothsides of real time and assurance was successfully fulfilled in MedVis. It provides an effective tool forthe application and research in medical field.
