Target Tracking Algorithm Based on Human's Dominant Color Features in Multiple Cameras

Establishing correspondences between moving objects is one of the most difficult problems to multiple cameras tracking in wide area video surveillance system.According to the basic theory of human model,an algorithm based on human model target segmentation and dominant color target recognition has been introduced.The proposed method utilizes the distance of target center and the distance of dominant color to resolve the multi-camera target handoff problem,instead of extracting complex features（such as SIFT features）.Experimental results show that the method can achieve robust target matching in overlapping area,and the algorithm complexity is highly simplified.
