Present situation and trend of research of location-based service on online social networks

In location-based social networks, people obtain services, such as friends or locations recommendation, travel routes recommendation, and so on, according to publish location-embedded media. Both of people and locations are objects of location-based social network and locations bring social networks back to reality, bridging the gap between the physical world and online social networking services. This paper surveyed the researches on locations acquisition, users understanding, locations understanding, information sharing and disseminating and locations privacy in location-based social network, and provi-ded a summary for future research issues.
