Abstract:Aiming at the problems of large pressure loss,poor stability,difficult to process,higher cost,etc,which were existing in the DN100 metal cone rotameter of range limit of 100 m3/h,the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method is employed to design and optimize the structural parameters of rotameter.Numerical calculation is conducted for the 3D flow field of the rotameter.To improve the computational precision,the size function feature of GAMBIT is used to get denser mesh.The error analysis method of the float forced balance is adopted to adjust the inlet flow rate.The results show that design and optimization of the rotameter using the method of CFD numerical calculation which combines physical experiment can not only achieve the desired design goals,but also improve the performance of rotameter,while reducing the design cycle and design costs.
