| Abstract: | Both in terms of prevalence and impact, domestic violence is a significant problem in modern society. The current study investigated women's acceptance of internet sites with domestic-violence information as an additional source of support. Perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, social influence and awareness of sites were predictors of intention to use sites. However, awareness and experience of domestic violence predicted use of sites. We argue that technology acceptance needs to be studied in the context of a detailed analysis of ‘Everyday Life Information Seeking’ to better understand acceptance and as a basis for designing effective support sites. |
