Comparison of the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Method with Traditional Ones

Multidisciplinary Design Optimization(MDO) has made great progress based on traditional optimization.It is a method for complicated systems,which integrates the design methods,the traditional knowledge of machine design and design process,and the modern information technology.The goal of MDO is to improve the products,shorten the cycle of design and reduce the cost.We compare the MDO method with traditional optimization methods in this paper,and prove that MDO is feasible and efficient by an example.
