| Abstract: | The development on synthesis of starch graft copolymer superabsorbents, cellulose graft copolymer superabsorbents and acrylic superabsorbents were reviewed. Due to abundant source of starch and cellulose in China, the study of starch and cellulose graft copolymer superabsorbents had been of interest. However, the majority of present day superabsorbents for health care applications were prepared from partially neutralized acrylic acid (AA) and a bidentate crosslinking agent. As a consequence, the science and technology of acrylic superabsorbent preparation had grown considerably. At last, the development trends of superabsorbents were introduced. |
