Abstract:Replacing heavy nickel-base superalloy with light TiAl alloy to manufacture turbocharger turbine of internal combustion engine is an effective way to improve the acceleration response and achieve light weight of internal combustion engine. Focusing on the engineering application of TiAl turbocharger turbine, the research progresses in alloy and structural design, manufacture and joining technology of TiAl turbocharger turbine, the manufacture technology of master alloy and application test were analyzed. The technologies on casting and joining as well as the manufacture technology of master alloy in China are basically mature and meet the conditions on engineering application. But it is also required to further improve the production efficiency of casting and joining for TiAl turbocharger turbine and formulate corresponding industrial standard as soon as possible.
