Abstract:Through analyzing the participative characteristics of symbol during the process of cultural communication, the following arguments were pointed out. Firstly, ancient Chinese language is a vivid part of abstract symbol. Secondly, the comprehensive uses of ancient Chinese language are pervasive in modern design. Thirdly, the symbol of ancient Chinese language works as a communication tool and an aesthetic mass media.
