Abstract:A novel process named “CVI+PIP” was developed in the present aiming at the goals of lowing the preparating cost, shortening fabrication cycles and being suitable for batch production. The flexural strength and the fracture toughness of C/SiC composites as received amounted to 561?MPa and 17?MPa*m1/2. Open porosity of such kinds of C/SiC composites is smaller than 2?%, and they do not show leakage when used for propulsion at air pressure of 0.6?MPa.
