| Abstract: | The successful experience in trial production of a large thin section nodular iron casting was introduced. The process difficulties of the casting was analyzed. The foundry method scheme, gating system design, melting and treatment of the molten iron was described. As the result of trial production, the defects such as shrinkage, deformation and so on have been prevented, and the casting quality met technical requirements. |
