Abstract: | This paper deals with the wettability and the corrosion of three AlN-BN-C compounds substrates by a SiCa treated liquid steel. The contact angles between liquid steel and solid ceramics in a high purity argon atmosphere (10−5 hPa) were measured using the sessile drop method. The solid-liquid interfaces are studied by optical microscopy, X-rays diffraction, EDAX analysis and Raman spectroscopies. The results of above investigations allow us to propose a corrosion mechanism. The substrate compositions are optimised by improving the non-wetting behaviour and minimizing the corrosion in steel industry. |
