Investigation of recrystallization in an alloy of the Mg-Y-La-Zr system

Magnesium alloys are a light material and for this reason they are of interest for technologies where the weight of structures should be decreased to a minimum. Deformable magnesium alloys have very high strength characteristics. The mechanical properties of deformable magnesium alloys are determined by the structural processes occurring in cold-hardening or its removal. One such process is recrystallization. The literature contains little data on recrystallization of magnesium alloys containing yttrium, although yttrium is an effective strengthening agent for magnesium.
