Abstract:Laser ignition characteristics of double-base (DB) propellant SQ-2 and RDX-CMDB propellants were researched by CO2 laser ignition at different laser fluxes, and the effect of content of RDX , Al powder and burning catalysts on ignition characteristics of RDX-CMDB was discussed. The results of measurements show that the laser ignition delay time of DB propellant SQ-2 and RDX-CMDB propellants except the sample containing Al powder decreases with increasing the heat fluxes and the change tendency was slowly convergent. Content of RDX , the additives of Al power and burning catalysts had some effect on the ignition delay time, and the influencing degree has related with the laser fluxes. The content of other components had little effect on the laser delay time of propellants except Al powder prolonging the delay time of the propellant at lower heat fluxes . And the delay time of propellants increased with increasing the content of RDX and Al powder and the catalysts in the propellant had both great influence on the laser ignition process and the delay time of the propellants at the higher heat fluxes.
