Abstract:In order to study the influence of barrel structure on natural frequency,some parts of barrel structure were taken as research object,especially sniper gun barrel structure such as constraint length,barrel configuration,muzzle device and rifle. The corresponding 3D model was established. The barrel was meshed by primarily applying hexahedron element,and then the modal analysis was carried out by finite element method. The natural frequencies of barrel with different structures were calculated and obtained. By comparison,the effects of different barrel structures on the natural frequencies were obtained. The analysis result shows that,the longer the screw thread of barrel tail,the smaller the vibration amplitude of muzzle. For the barrels of the same mass,the barrel with conical shape has the maximum stiffness. It can cause adverse effect on the barrel stiffness and vibration characteristics to install the muzzle device.
