Abstract:Since the implementation of reform and open policy,the iron and steel industry and the application of the building steel structures in our country have developed rapidly,which puts the development and application of new-type steel materials in a more important position.The author presents in this paper the recent development of new-type steel materials in such aspects as high strength low alloy steel, fire-resistance steel, low yield ration steel and hot rolled H-shape steel in China.The paper also attempts to analyze the property of material quality and advantage of those steel materials.The result may be used as a reference to the designers and fabricators of building steel structures in correct and rational selection of steel materials.
